Colt is so active… he is always on the move and getting into everything. And I now know what its like for nothing to be off limits. He does something new what seems like everyday. And cracks me up everyday. It’s so fun to watch him figure things and see his personality come out even more.
Things Colt Loved at 6 Months:
- Bath time
- Going to the park and swinging
- Other babies and children
- Food, food, and more food.
- Pulling up to stand on everything
- Playing with aunts, uncles, his cousin, grandmas, grandpas, friends… really anyone!
- Pool time
- Dancing (or watching mom dance like a crazy person)
- Watching videos of himself
- Playing with his toys
- Being rocked and sung to
- Being outside
- Playing with dad
- Being thrown in the air
- Making squish face (like all the time)
Big things that happened around 6 months:
- Crawling… everywhere and anywhere
- Pulling up to stand
- Sitting up (this actually happened at 5.5 months)
- Passing toys back and forth between hands
- Lots of traveling
- And a big thing for Daddy… Chase got his Step 1 Boards scores back and ROCKED IT! Yay!
Colt has traveled a lot in his short life. He has already been on long road trips and is a little jet setter. With all of this traveling he has been to 8 states and with our crazy medical school journey I am sure there will be many more to add to the list.
The “Squish Face”
He started doing this face right around 6 months. Even though he looks mad when he does it he isn’t. He does it all the time. It has slowly transformed and now he does a squishy smile face too.
On the Road Again
Actually on the ‘plane’ again for the first leg of the trip. And the first stop Utah…
We went down to Utah for my little sister Cami’s wedding. Chase was in his Internal Med rotation then and the doctors he was with did 9 days on and 6 days off so we surprised his family and he came too.
At the airport
Grandma is happy to see Colt
Chase surprising his grandma
Isn’t my nephew so cute!!
While in Utah my cousin Katie took photos of Colt and me. She is amazing and did such a great job getting Colt’s attention. I totally recommend her if you are in Utah.
Such a wonderful day and such a beautiful wedding! Welcome to the family, Christian!
During the reception Colt was being shown off and passed around seeing everyone. I could hardly keep track of where he was at. He was given back to me when it was time for the Mom and Son dance. And I guess he was exhausted from the long day and happy to be back with me because he quickly feel asleep on me.
Next stop was Colorado…
Chase had to go back to Oregon for rotations but Colt and I made the road trip to Texas with my family. This way Colt could meet my Grandma and Grandpa Kearns in Colorado and of course I had to show him off to everyone in Texas.
This road trip was great because Colt had many people who wanted to entertain him. Between Aunt Erin and Uncle Austin he was laughing practically the whole time he was awake. And then while I took a turn driving my mom climbed in back to save the day when he was getting fussy. But all in all he is a pretty easy and happy traveler.
He sure loved his great-grandma. She played with him nonstop and could always make him happy.
Next stop… The Lone Star State
We made the drive from Colorado through New Mexico to Texas. And then spent a couple of weeks there. Colt met a bunch more people. We did lots of swimming, some shopping, got pedis, and lots of good eating. I got to see close friends and neighbors. We were happy we got to be at Cami and Christian’s Texas wedding reception.
Welcome to Texas!
It was so great to see Lindsey and her daughter Kenzie. Kenzie and Colt were obsessed with each other. Kenz called him “her baby” and didn’t want to ever leave his side.
And of course I had a blast seeing my best friends!
I had to take him to my second home, WOGA, to meet my coaches and one of my teammate, Mykii. He was very entertained by all of the action. Maybe he will be a little flipper too.
I had to include a picture of the groom’s cake. I loved it. Christian loves sushi so they had it made to look like a platter of sushi. So fun and plus it was delicious!!
Don’t you love the photobombers
We had such a great time with my family! I am thankful that we got to go down there and spend a good amount of time with them. It was sad to leave… But we definitely were more than ready to see Chase!
At Colt’s 7 month doctor’s appointment he weighed 16 lbs 14 oz and was 2′ 2″ long. He is sleeping all through the night again. Usually from 8-9 pm until 6-7 am. When he wakes up in the morning he normally doesn’t cry just plays in his crib until I get him. He still takes pretty good naps most days. He likes to fight going to sleep now. Especially if we are anywhere else but home. He wants to be standing constantly and follows me all day and pulls up on my legs so he can stand.
Things Colt Loves at 7 Months:
- All the same things that he loved at 6 months
- Arrowroot cookies
- Church… mostly people watching and the songs
- Drinking out of cups… if he sees me and Chase with a drink he wants it
- An animal game on my phone
- Being outside
- His soccer ball grandpa brought back from Brazil and his basketball
- When dad gets home from the hospital
Big things that happened around 7 months:
- Once he has pulled up to stand he will let go and stand on his own for a couple seconds.
- First time sitting in shopping cart… okay so this isn’t really a “big” thing but he loved it
- Hitting toys together like he is clapping
- Now crawling with one leg up
- Getting his first two tooth
Some crazy fun vising our friends in Lebanon.
Here are some pictures from our very quick trip to Utah…
And some more pictures… Sorry there are so many I go overboard
Love this crazy face
And a couple days later… 2 teeth
