4 weeks to go

I am 36 weeks today… which means only 4 weeks until my due date! It really has gone by quickly. I still feel like we have a lot to do before the little guy gets here, but we are well on our way!

Pregnancy sure does random things to you. Besides feeling very large and in charge, I am so itchy! Apparently I have pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy, also known as PUPPP. The doctor said they don’t really know what causes it, but it is more common in first pregnancies and should disappear a day or two after delivery. The good news is it isn’t harmful for baby or mama… just uncomfortable.

Another random side effect is leg cramps. Luckily, I have only had it happen to me twice, but dang do charley horses hurt! I always thought people were just being wimps when they were talking about how bad it hurt, but boy was I wrong.

And then I have the not so out of the ordinary pregnancy back pain. My upper back bugs me every day, pretty much all day. I don’t think sitting at a desk all day at work helps. Thankfully I have a super nice husband who will work on my back and put to use some of those techniques he has learned in his OMM classes.

Okay, I will stop whining now.

Bring on the Parties

It’s that time of the year… Holiday Parties. I feel like we have had one party after another. All have been a blast, but the running around can sure make you crazy.

First we had a party that Chase and his fellow SGA members put on for the medical students and their families. I have to preface this photo by saying that Chase participated in No Shave November and then afterward gradually shaved the facial hair off… at this point he had his creeper ‘stache. Very scary.

We had multiple people say they thought he looked like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.

The next night was my work holiday party. I made Chase shave off the mustache for that one. I haven’t uploaded my pictures from that yet. Here is one of Katie and I looking at our genius photos from the photo booth.

I continued my winning streak from last years work party and won a raffle prize. I won a $50 Target Gift Card. Which I used to buy baby stuff of course.

Then on Saturday we had our Ugly Sweater Party hosted by the Bedfords. For the White Elephant Gift Exchange I made a “Men of Comp-NW” 2013 Calendar, featuring the medical students that were at the party. It worked out nicely that there were 12 of them there. I used photos from Facebook and pasted them on to pictures of male models. I am pleased to say that it was the most fought over gift and everyone got a real kick out of it.

Our other gift was a home decor item, with the famous Michael Scott quote, “That’s what she said”.

I won “Peckermints”. I will let you use your imagination to figure out what those are. Chase first got Brokeback Mountain and popcorn, but that was stolen. So he ended up with a book titled, “Strangling Your Husband is NOT an Option”.

Here are a couple more pictures from the Ugly Sweater Party.

The holidays are going to fly by and next thing I know I will have a little baby boy! I can’t wait. Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you have a safe and happy holiday season!
